Waxlet - Sticky ear cleaner

Cotton buds push wax in.
Waxlet pulls it out.

  • Pulls the wax out, not in, so the pressure lifts and sound comes back.
  • Gentle. No digging, no scraping, no cotton fluff left behind.
  • See exactly what came out, right there on the tip.
  • 24 sticks per box. Rinse one and it's ready to go again.

“I'd done cotton buds every morning since high school and the left side still felt stuffy. Second go with this, there was a brown glob stuck to the end. Gross, but brilliant. Rinsed it and it looks brand new.”

“Confession: I used to scratch my itchy ears with a bobby pin. The case now lives in my hair drawer right beside them, and I grab a stick instead.”

“The cotton buds are still in our cabinet, but only for her makeup now. One go with these showed us what the buds had been leaving behind. Twenty bucks more got us a case each.”

WHAT YOUR COTTON BUD IS REALLY DOING

Your ear pushes the wax out.
Your cotton bud shoves it back in.

Out of the shower. Grab a cotton bud. A twirl in each ear, a yellow smear on the cotton. Feels clean.

By lunch it itches again. Then one morning an ear goes full and muffled, like your head's underwater. You turn the telly up. You say “sorry, what?” all day.

Here's why. Your ear moves wax outwards on its own. Every time you talk or chew, it creeps towards the opening. A cotton bud catches a smear and shoves the rest back down, where it packs tight (that's the picture). Even the packet says not to put them in your ear canal.

Waxlet works the other way. The sticky tip grabs the wax at the opening, and you pull it out. No pushing, no packing, no water. The pressure lifts, sound rushes back in, and the proof is stuck to the tip.

GRAB. HOLD. PULL.

The power of an extra-sticky tip.

Like a chameleon's tongue grabbing its catch, Waxlet's tacky resin tip holds earwax on contact. Pull the stick away and the wax comes with it.

Split-screen analogy: a chameleon tongue holding its catch above, and a sticky ear-cleaner holding wax below. Both pull back to the left.

See the difference.

THE MOMENT IT COMES OUT

My cotton buds always came out looking clean, so I figured my ears were fine. First go with this, two little amber bits on the tip. Doesn't look like much, but my ear felt less stuffy straight away.

FIFO, two weeks on, foam earplugs every shift. By the end of a swing my ears feel packed and itchy. The case rides in my wash bag next to the toothbrush now, and a quick go after nights makes a real difference.

I pay about ninety dollars for microsuction every six months, plus a week of drops beforehand. I'll keep going, but this is for the months in between. Only one tiny speck on the tip today, which is how I like it now.

Review details

If you can use a cotton bud, you can do this.

  1. Animation showing the soft sticky tip and a stick being taken from its case1

    Take a stick

Take a stick from the case. The soft, flexible tip is coated with the adhesive that grabs the wax.

  2. Animation of a woman using a sticky ear cleaner and inspecting the tip2

    Twist, pull and look

Rest the sticky tip at the opening of your ear and twist gently. Draw it out slowly and see what came out, right there on the tip.

  3. Animation of a sticky ear cleaner being rinsed under running water3

    Rinse and reuse

Rinse the tip under the tap, let it dry and pop it back in the case. Same stick, ready for next time. A cotton bud goes in the bin.

What happens when you swap the cotton bud

From waxy, itchy and muffled to “whoa, everything's loud” in about a minute.

  1. THE FIRST TWIST

You see what was in there.

Twist, pull, look at the tip. That brown blob is the wax your cotton buds kept shoving around. Gross? A bit. Satisfying? Very.

  2. A MINUTE LATER

    The pressure lets go.

That tight, full feeling eases off, like pulling out an earplug you forgot you were wearing. The kettle's loud. Your own voice is loud. The room comes back.

  3. NEXT TIME IT ITCHES

You grab a stick, not a bud.

Wax comes back. It always will. Now you've got the right tool for it: twist, pull, rinse, done. No packing it in, no soaking, no booking. That's why we suggest two boxes: one at home, one in your bag.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

Fair questions. Straight answers.

My cotton bud comes out yellow. Isn't it working?
It's working on the front of your ear. The smear on the cotton is the bit it caught. The rest got pushed further in, where you can't see it. That's why your ears feel waxy again by lunch, and why one day an ear goes muffled. Clean at the front, packed at the back. Waxlet grabs the wax and brings it out, where you can see it.
Will Waxlet really pull the wax out?
Yes. The tip is made with a tacky resin adhesive, and wax sticks to it the moment they touch. Twist, pull, and the wax comes out on the end of the stick. You won't have to take our word for it. You'll see it.
Does it hurt? Does it go deep like a cotton bud?
No, and no. Nothing sharp, no scraping, no water blasting at your eardrum. The rounded tip rests at the opening of your ear, where your ear brings the wax, and you give it a gentle twist. Nothing gets shoved down your ear canal. We tested Waxlet on our own ears before we sold a single box.
My ear is completely blocked. Will Waxlet fix it?
Straight answer: if a rock-hard plug has sat on your eardrum for weeks, or your ear really hurts, see your GP. Nothing you do at home should dig that out (and please, not with a cotton bud).
Waxlet is for the soft, sticky wax your ear pushes towards the opening: the build-up that makes it feel full, muffled and itchy. Grab it early and often, and it never gets the chance to pack into a plug.
Why pay $49.99 when cotton buds cost $3?
Because a $3 packet of cotton buds doesn't get the wax out. It pushes it in, and the end of that road is a clinic chair at $120 to $175 a visit, often with no Medicare rebate. A cotton bud is used once and binned. A Waxlet stick rinses clean and goes again, and there are 24 in a box. That's about $2 a stick, or $1.46 in the Couple Pack.
Can I reuse the sticks?
Yes. Rinse the tip under the tap, let it dry, and it's sticky again for next time. When a tip stops feeling tacky, move on to a fresh one. With 24 in a box, you won't run short. One rule: your sticks are yours. That's why the Couple Pack gives you a box each.
Who is Waxlet for?
Adults who reach for a cotton bud (or a cotton tip, or a Q-tip) because their ears feel waxy, itchy or full. Some people simply make more wax than others. It's not a hygiene thing; it's how you're built. If your ears block up every few months, or go muffled after a day in earphones or hearing aids, Waxlet is for you. Anything that sits in your ear all day slows the wax on its way out.
Why is the second box only $20?
Two reasons. The second box rides in the same parcel, so it costs us very little to send. And wax comes back, so you'll use it (or the other cotton bud user in your house will). The crossed-out price is what two single boxes cost: $99.98. The Couple Pack is $69.99 with free shipping. Four boxes are $99.99, just $25 a box.

Took me a couple of goes to get the angle right, hence four stars. Once I had it, the full feeling in my left ear eased off and there was proper wax stuck to the end to show for it.

Amelia H.

Drops at night, a cotton bud in the morning, and my left ear still felt muffled half the time. The buds came out with a smear at most. This picked up a little brown lump on the second go, and that side felt clearer by the afternoon.

Andrew O.

Microsuction is about ninety bucks where I live, they want you on drops for a week beforehand, and the next spot was three weeks away anyway. With my right ear muffled and driving me mad, I grabbed these for the wait. Kept the booking, but the wait was a lot easier.

Anika V.

Six years in hearing aids, and I used to run a cotton bud round each ear before the domes went in. The buds left fluff behind and my ears itched by lunch. A quick once-over with these instead and the domes sit much more comfortably.

Anthony C.

Forty-odd years using cotton buds and I'd never seen anything worth showing anyone. First go with this, I held the tip up for my wife and she made a noise I've never heard her make. Would gross her out again, ten out of ten.

April J.

Did the whole routine the chemist suggested: drops twice a day, ten minutes on my side with a towel under my head. A week later my ear felt sloshy, blocked and itchy on top of it. These are dry and done in a minute, which suits me far better.

Arthur Q.

Does what it says. I wear hearing aids in both ears and get through a fair few, so I'd love a pack bigger than the four boxes. Fifth star when they do one.

Ashleigh X.

By knock-off time my ears are unbearably itchy, and oil drops only made a greasy mess. Getting the wax out takes the edge off, and I've stopped going at them with my car key.

Beatrice E.

Cotton buds were part of my morning routine, yet my right ear always sounded slightly dull on the phone. One slow twist with this brought out a brown smear the buds had clearly been missing. A bit embarrassing, honestly.
